Shiloh Community Church was organized in Houston, Texas on October 1, 1978 as Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church. In addition to Howard Devenport, Jr., founder and Pastor other key people are the mothers of the church Gertha Evans (deceased) and Lillie Devenport.
Its origins were humble. In fact, the first meetings were held in the Masonic Lodge on West Montgomery. A caring atmosphere, quality leadership, and community outreach attracted people from all ages, religious backgrounds, races, and walks of life. On September 10, 1999, Articles of Incorporation were filed and the name was changed to Shiloh Community Church.
Shiloh Community Church provides in-depth biblical teaching so that Christians can understand the nature and implications of the gospel to their everyday lives, learn to think biblically about challenging issues of the 21st century, surmount the inevitable problems and adversities of life through the sufficient grace of God and the principles of His Word, and grow to spiritual maturity.
Shiloh is a family - and there is nothing more important in a family's life than spending time together, celebrating each other's successes, and supporting one another during the difficult times. That "together time" can be found through the many worship and fellowship opportunities offered by Shiloh. Tour our site and take the next step toward meeting and joining our church family.
We look forward to seeing you soon!
